howdy Flip.. yes, practicing to be a long term fx'ing Chicken & losing a few feathers along the way may be good.. but being a bold Chicken with a head cutted off is instant bliss..

Van Gecko I was told that song by my first boss twenty years ago as a young trainee 20 years ago and it has always made sense - corny but true.
Have an opinion but stay flexible and don't be too proud. The market outlasts everyone - just make you sure you are able to come back tommorrow (or next week or next month) and things will work out ok.
van Gecko 14:00 GMT December 30, 2003
viies 13:34 indeed.. one should play & listen to Kenny Roger's great song "The Gambler" every trading day..
"Know when to hold 'em,
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away,
Know when to run.
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done.."
Jakarta Onk 13:40.. good evening, there will be plenty of time to long the dollar when it finally turns for a few thousand pips of correction.. but if you are a positional player & must play now, you could try scaleing in small up to 1.26 & either get out when your pain threshold is unbearable or allow for another 3/5 figure overshoot up to 1.28/30.. trading against this dollar bear trend with small stop is akin to h'issing good pips against the wind unless one gets lucky & pick the exact dollar bottom..

viies.. hope you are fine & enjoying the fine life in beautiful Tallinn.. the longer one play in this game, the sooner one will realize 'making enough money' is all relative to one's state of mind & depth of the pocket.. 'here today, gone tomorrow' is a vely common fx disease.. happy new year

if the words "Happy New Year" holds true for the dollar this year.. the 1st weeks of January may bring some joy to 'zero-summed $bulls'..

at these lofty highs..euro must get support from its crosses & stay above the 1.2350's on a weekly close basis to sustain the near term non-stop drive to 1.26 & above.. anything below would tilt the odds for corrective consolidation prior to another push up or down.. historically, 1st Q's are dollar supportive..fwiw
meanwhile, cheers to those lucky longkies & god bless all shorties (big & small) who are getting blasted from the european skies or swimming under the Red sea..

is ECB giving out BS signals? Buy & Snooze till 135 ?
van Gecko 11:58 GMT December 15, 2003
the supply of $ bulls seems to be drying up after eating rotten goose eggs for a whole year.. that said, weekly voodoo charts had been forming a 6 month lopsided 'W bottom' with some nice looking dollar/tech divergencies from the recent lows..
for brave long marching $Goose bulls..BOD/BOSD/BAM tactics for a 500 to 1000 pip blip may be a good risk play..
